When you’re in the mood for an authentic Caribbean experience, Caribbean Soul in Rosedale, NY, is the place to be. Nestled at 234-04 Merrick Blvd, this vibrant restaurant brings the rich flavors and warmth of the Caribbean straight to your table. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the comforting aroma of jerk chicken, fried plantains, and the signature spices that make Caribbean food stand out. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s hard to resist the charm and flavors that Caribbean Soul offers.

If you’ve never visited, you're in for a treat. The menu is a celebration of Caribbean cuisine, with each dish showcasing the unique flavors and techniques passed down through generations. The seasoned meats, the tangy sauces, and the fresh vegetables are what make this place a hidden gem. One of their most popular dishes is the jerk chicken, which has just the right amount of spice and smoky flavor. The rice and peas served alongside are perfect, with each bite delivering the warmth of Caribbean comfort food.

I remember my first visit to Caribbean Soul, and I was instantly impressed by the welcoming vibe. The restaurant is casual but has a touch of elegance, making it suitable for a family meal, a night out with friends, or even a solo visit if you’re craving a little peace and great food. The staff are friendly and attentive, taking the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations based on your preferences.

The diverse offerings cater to all tastes. For those who enjoy a hearty, spicy kick, the jerk pork or curry goat is a must-try. On the other hand, vegetarians will appreciate the variety of options like the stewed lentils and vegetable patties, all bursting with flavor. Caribbean Soul also does a fantastic job with its seafood dishes, like the fried fish or the shrimp in a creamy coconut sauce, which is nothing short of mouth-watering.

What really sets Caribbean Soul apart from other Caribbean spots is their commitment to authenticity. You can tell that every dish is made with love and care. They source fresh ingredients, and the chef’s knowledge of Caribbean cooking shines through in each bite. It’s clear that the restaurant takes pride in offering an experience, not just a meal.

Another highlight is their drink menu. They offer an array of refreshing tropical drinks, including the classic sorrel, ginger beer, and fresh fruit juices. If you’re in the mood for something a little stronger, you can sip on their signature rum cocktails, which pair perfectly with the bold flavors of the food. On my last visit, I opted for a mango daiquiri, and it was a deliciously smooth complement to the spicy jerk chicken.

The ambiance of Caribbean Soul makes it the perfect spot to unwind. The lively decor, infused with vibrant Caribbean colors, transports you to a beachside paradise. Whether you’re enjoying a relaxed meal indoors or dining al fresco, the atmosphere enhances the whole dining experience. Visited Caribbean Soul around 4:30 p.m. and it wasn't busy which meant we were able to be seated and placed our order within a few minutes. The food didn't take long to come out and was hot and flavorful. We had the Esco Red Snapper with Rice and Peas and Vegetables and also a Combo plate which had Oxtail, Curry Goat, Fried Shrimp, Rice and Peas, Vegetables and Fried Plantains. I ordered a lemonade because I don't drink alcohol which was too sweet for my taste buds which made it my last favorite item. From the atmosphere of the space I can tell that it's a great place to be especially at night.

Popped in to celebrate a graduation! Very well decorated main dining area with a great set up, I noticed a private section in the front, I thought that was great, but decided to go 'rooftop' as the weary was perfect. We walked up a small flight of steps, opened the door to the nicest bar/ seating area, cozy, the vibes were right and when I looked right, there was that covered rooftop dining area that was absolutely perfect ( only to find out there was an EXTRA outdoor area... Love this place already!. Our server was Chris, nice guy... It seems that Mid week is a different crowd & with light staff, possibly the weekend is when it's fully staffed, we surely didn't mind any wait, as we were in good company. Drinks were made RIGHT!!! Rum punch, very tasty, Tito's & seltzer & finally Gin n seltzer with lemon... All made correctly.. our apps were bang bang shrimp & calamari and our main was the Salmon & a side of fried rice... All tasty served hot and presented well. I would definitely believe to come back to try brunch and maybe a night where there's a DJ & some dancing!

The atmosphere was great. Came here on a Sunday and it wasn’t crowded. The food and the drinks were really good. I ordered the Jamaican Jamaican combo which came with oxtails and curry goat. For my drink, I got the Hennessy punch and that was amazing too. Chad the bartender and Elijah the bar back were fantastic and took good care of me.
